RĪGA JŪRMALA MUSIC FESTIVAL’S NEW PROGRAM

THE CONCERTS WITH PARTICIPATION OF SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA AND WORLD-LEVEL SOLOISTS ARE WAITING FOR YOU

In the summer of 2020, from July 10th to August 30th, the second season of the Rīga Jūrmala music festival will take place. Over four weekends in Riga and Jurmala, 20 concerts will be performed with the participation of world-class symphony orchestras and soloists. Pre-sale of tickets for festival concerts will begin on November 20 on the festival’s official website. The program of the new season includes concerts by four world-class orchestras: the festival will be opened by the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra (IFO) with the new artistic director Lahav Shani at the conductor's desk (July 11 and 12, the Latvian National Opera), the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra (BRSO) will also perform with the conductor Manfred Honeck (July 17 and 19, Dzintari Concert Hall). In August, concerts will be given by two legendary orchestras - the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra (SFO) and its long-term artistic director Yuri Temirkanov (August 15 and 16, the Latvian National Opera), as well as the London Philharmonic Orchestra (LFO) and Grammy Prize winner, conductor Vladimir Ashkenazi (August 28 and 30, Dzintari Concert Hall).

A series of musical master classes is opening under the guidance of world famous masters of performing arts. The novelty of the 2020 festival - in cooperation with the Jazeps Vitols Latvian Academy of Music, the first season of the Academy’s master classes will be opened. Young talents from Latvia and other countries of the world will be able to master their skills under the guidance of world-famous interpreters. Information on applying for master classes and the program will be announced in January 2020.
